1998 Trans Am Knock Sensors

A short while ago, my engine light came on. Scanner told us we had a bad knock sensor or sendors. I figured, no problem, I want to go to an LS6 intake anyway, so I will order 2 knock sendors and the intake. Well, I got as far as trying to order the knock sensors before being told that the 98's used one of two knock sensor types and I could not tell which my car had until I pulled the intake. Is this true? I hate to have to pull it apart twice, but if I must....

yes, GM did a redesign of the 98 knock sensors. personally, i'd order the newest design and associated wiring harness and be done with it.
