Painted nostrils??

If i paint the 2 nostrils on my ram air hood, will it blow up or cause a fire. THe paint says its protects to 1200F. I know a couple of guys who did it but wasnt sure.

what? are you serious? you do know they are painted now... beleive it or not... your hood is painted...

and at 1200F your hood would be melted to your motor....

what kind of design you going with? and are youjust using normal auto paint?
