Anybody here done this mod? I am getting my Magnaflow 16636 system installed tomorrow and I'm debating whether to have the cats removed.

I know the engine will throw a CEL (due to the O2 sensors).

What else should I expect (other than a "gassy" smell and a louder exhaust note!)

prolly see worse gas mileage.... i no whne my o2 sensors went out on my trans am my gas mileage droppe dlike crazy so if your gettin rid of your o2's you prolly see this as well.....

or the free flowing exhasut will offset your drop in mileage thats o2 related....

jsut my thoughts

o2 simulators will work for the after cat o2's but you will still have to run the before cat o2's. i did not see any changes in fuel mileage when i did mine the only change was more power.

Fuel economy shouldn't be affected, because he is not removing the primary O2's, only the downstream (after cat) O2's. The downstream oxygen sensors do not affect fuel economy or performance in any way, their only job is to measure catalyst efficiency by comparing its own readings to the readings of the upstream sensors.

The primary O2's affect fuel economy, power, and driveability. OBDII cannot operate properly without them.
