:help: I have a 2002 ws6 a4. Right now my only mod is a lid, filter and bellows. I have the money right now to do either do exhaust (slp lm), or 3.73 gears. Can any of you guys give me your opinion on which mod I should do? I would really appreciate it!

thanks

Well its an easy decision, speed... or sound w/ some speed

I would say exhaust, as soon as i got my magnaflows installed i began to LOVE my car hah.. But then again im sure the 3:73's would be nice.

My vote is for exhaust though

Well let's start off with this...what are you goals for the car? Track? Daily Driver? Then we'll go from there.

The car is my daily driver. I do a little street racing here and there. Will I lose any power going with the slp lm straight through resonator?

Don't listen to NHRAForm----he doesn't know anything about these cars look at his puny timeslip. Personally I would do a stall convertor next.

After that I would get a nice sounding free flowing CB like Hooker or Magnaflow, then since you then a niceDD it look into some SFC and Bilstein HD shocks to improve the ride quality.

No way man! This guy NHRA is ridiculus, GM says so themselves that Ram Air adds 15 hp! It was right there on the window sticker! Duh!

I'd get a converter, then exhaust, then you NEED subframe connecters.

A stall would be nice...but personally I couldn't stand having stock exhaust because of the lack of noise. I would go with a good quality cat-back (Magnaflow or Hooker) then drop in a stall converter. Does that car have 3.23's? If so, id say leave the gears alone and put a good stall in. Then maybe some underdrives and she'll feel like a new car!

i just did magnaflows, lid and exaust, the exaust is by far the best then i did 3.73 and its a huge toss up if you have the 3,23 and some extra cash try 3,55 they are more streetable.

The car does have 3.23's. Iam really getting tired of the the stock exhaust. It is really quite and I like an aggressive exhaust, so that's probably the next thing I will do. I really wanted to do the slp LM, but some of you guys are saying magnaflow, hooker, etc. Is there any reason why I should not go with the slp? Is there good hp gains with this exhaust compared to the others? Whats really going to be the difference?

The loudmouth is a good exhaust, but if you ever decide to get headers your car will sound like crap. Magnaflow is a perfect all-around CB.

a stall will give you the most bang for the buck during racing- but if you like pussy footing around get the cat-back exhaust and gain .1 in the 1/4 and 1 mph if you are lucky- vs. .5-.7 in the 1/4 with a stall and sticky tires.

you don't need 3.73's- get a stall with your current gears and you'll be happy. if you plan on doing a car AND a stall then size both accordingly. also stalled your car will have no traction without drag radials.

Say I go ahead and do a converter. Will I have to do a trans cooler kit if I get a converter with a 3100 stall?

your stock rear end can take up to 550hp to the wheels. Listen to these boys and go with the converter.Use a 3000 to 3500 hundred stall with and external T-cooler you will shit your britches trust me.
