Well, I have a 2800 stall from fuddle racing with i think a 1.9 str. Now i gave them a call to see what they though a bigger stall would get my 1/4 mile wise.
I am now running a best of 11.706 @117.26 With a 1.696 60' on nitto 245/60-16 tires.
they(fuddle) said they would re-stall my converter for free(just $50 shipping)to a 3400 2.1 str converter.
I thought this was a great deal, but what will it do to my times with traction permitting of course.
Mods are 3.73 gears, full bolt ons, 224 cam, ls6 heads, and a 3,300 weight with me in the car.
I really like the stall i have now and am a little worried if going bigger is going to hurt my trap speed significantly. But if it drops my times .2-.3 i believe it is well worth it.
Just want to see if anyone has gone from a 2800 to a 3400 and seen good gains.

the cam and gears will work very well with a 3400 stall.
youll see a .2-.3 gain with traction

Well i think i am definitely going to do the 3400 stall, now what about a good cam upgrade?
I want to do a big bang all mods together to see a big gain in time instead of just .2-.3
I have the tr224/227 cam now, and from being internally stock the cam got me to 117mph from 114 mph trap speeds with the same traction. Is the 2800 not letting to current cam breath right? Or do my times sound right with this cam.
----internally stock ---- ls6 heads/tr224/227 cam
60' ---- 1.686 ---- --------- 1.706
1/8 ---- 7.59 ---- ---------- 7.502
mph ---- 90.2 ---- ----------- 92.2
1/4 ---- 11.899 ---- -------- 11.705
mph ---- 114.44 ---- -------- 117.24
I really thought i was going to be running sub. 11.5's Everything on the tune is right now, we data logged many passes.
So anyway I am definitely going with a 3400 but i also want to bump the cam up as well. what is the next size up with good daily driver manners. I love the street manners of the 224 cam but i still wont mind something a little more aggressive.

That doesn't seem right. The LS6 heads and that cam only got you 3mph and less than .2?

you need to get you 60" down some, hows traction?
with ls6 heads, cam and 3400 stall, you should hit mid 11s.

thats what i was thinking, but if you look at the 1/8 time it is almost the same just more mph. so i'll try the bigger stall and see what happens

Was there any work done to the LS6 heads or are they stock?

I kinda ported them out. Just removed all imperfections. I have several head porting books that i went off of so i don't believe i messed them up. I know its not as good a cnc but removing all the casting flaws couldn't have hurt.
