3:73s are what most auto trannies upgrade too. You won't be slow off the line anymore.

I'm about ready to do this myself in my M6 TA, so the costs are fresh in my mind. Here's the estimated totals:

Gears - $175-200
Install kit - $75-90
Solid pinion bearing spacer (optional) - $17
Gear oil - $10-15
GM LSD additive - $5
Labor - $250-350

I'm thinking of doing the same thing. What type of gains in the 1/4 are typical from a stock car?

ny gears had cost me 324...the mech. told me that i had to buy the whole shim and bearing kit to do the swap wich had cost me 146$...and to install he was gon charge me 230....but then after da whole rear end was taken apart gears were bout to go in and then found out that they had sent me 3 series 373 instead of 2 series ...so had to go back to the stockers 273's and returned gears, got my money back and jus spent it on the volant intake..but 373 will be coming in soon...Oh and as for the shim kit, make sure u need it, cuz lot of ppl been tellin me that i didnt really need them..not sure though
