I went to the track the other day and could not shift into 2nd at high rpms. Someone told me it might be the syncros in the trans. Another said it could be the clutch not being pressed in completely. Anybody have any ideas??

This sounds kooky, I know. But when I bought my car, I had the same problem. The clutch was worn, slave cylinder was old style. Replaced it all with a centerforce DF setup w/stock flywheel and a newer slave. Now this clutch is wearing down and at high rpms the pressure plate is pushing the slave cylinder back just enough to keep full disengagement from happening. I tried bleeding, and the only thing i can do is to shift at 4500 or I can't shift fast. Getting worse too! New clutch and 15lb flywheel in the works, along with new rear end.
Personally, I will never use a centerforce pressure plate again. The counterweights have no way to balance themselves, and this has been a problem with high rpm shifting since about a year after installed.
Also, if it is only in 2nd, sounds like a synchro to me. Do you have an older style t56? They had crappy shift forks, from what I've been told. My t56 is updated, thanks to a fight with 3-4 fork that I won.

Thank you to all. I will do the drill mod this weekend and see if that cures the problem.:worship:
