shouldnt be, first of all because of TCS, but i know everytime i get the rear end loose my RPM's spike. I always thought the speedo worked off of tranny speed

It does. Uses tranny RPM's, tire size, and rear gear to calculate the speedo.

RPM's is measured at the motor....if I recall.
