Bushing! Get it lubed. I had a god awful metal-on-metal sounding screech from my rear that was actually a dried out bushing.

I was thinking, not sure how many people have had this problem but I had a real bad squeaking coming from the back of my car and it turned out to be the tail lights. The plastic wing nuts were loose and the rubber washers on the back of the tail lamp were squeaking.
Just thought I'd throw that in as a possibility

the bushings need to be replaced. Lube wont cure it.

How does every one know for sure it's the bushings? That's not the only thing that can squeek.

True, but such is the perils of online troubleshooting :)

i just spray some white lithium grease that comes in a can around the control arm bushings and pan hard bushings. It'll last for a month or two before you have to do it again
Lower control arm bushings???
:yup: could also be the sway arm bushings...
