I was just kinda cruising around in the Mustang a couple of days ago, instead of my usual ride, my 99 Z28. I had a little run in with a GTO, it must have been an 04 model because it had 5.7 badges on it, it was blue with big and little wheels and a loud exhaust. My 84 stang has an 88 roller motor, gears, intake, exhaust, nitrous; runs 13.9 on motor, haven't ran it on spray.
Anyway, he changes lanes so that he lines up with me at the next light so I'm thinking he must want some. The light turns green and he doesn't take off, but as we begin to roll away from the light I notice he holding it in first gear. I figure he must want a race from a roll so I punch it, I get the jump and by the the time I hit second he's ahead, by the end of third gear he's got at least 3-4 cars on me.
He's pulled a U-turn and took off so I never had a chance to ask him what he'd done to the car. I'm hoping he at least had bolt-ons and a cam to beat me like that, the stang should have close to the the same HP as a stock 5.7 GTO and bunch more torque (318rwhp/407rwtq on the bottle), not to mention the Mustang only wieghs about 3000 lbs.
Anybody here know this guy? Blue 04 GTO in OKC with big rear tires, skinnies in front, loud exhuast, and the rear of the car was jacked-up (maybe he's running a 12-bolt or nine inch?). If I knew he had some serious mods that would really help me justify keeping the old mustang as a second car.
