As stated below a WS7 is a Regular TA Converted to WS6. But what all is converted?
Here is the compiled list of what i have seen thats different.
-->Shifter
-->Hood
-->17" Wheels with 275 series tires
-->Taller Airbox
-->SLP Exhaust(headers and catback or just catback?)
-->Shocks and springs
I've heard a while ago there was an oil cooler?
Is there anything else that i'm missing?
There were an assload of regular T.A.'s converted to WS6 (I think roughly a third in 02) the last couple of years. Thousands more than the 3rd gens. So yes, there are a lot of WS6's running around. A WS7 is a regular TA that started life as just that, a regular T.A. and was converted by the owner to look like the WS6; ie hood, air box, wheels, and exhaust. They even made a badge for it. Just as good as a WS6 but costing thousands less since the WS6 package was an extra 3k+ on the sticker for what is mostly appearance.

WS7 is just a Nickname that was given to WS6 clones as you said.
The real WS6 Pkg consisted of
17" wheels w/275/40/17 Eagles (`96-97 GSC's `98-`02 F1's)
stiffer springs (1LE from `96-`00)
32mm front swaybar
powersteering cooler
Ram Air Hood w/Taller Airbox
Slightly better flowing Catback (Muffler Only all pipe sizes are same as base V8 cars)
Oh yeah and a WS6 badge.

How much taller is the airbox? Is it worth finding one or can I just mod the one that I have?

I thought a 'WS7' was the name given to a TA that was converted to a fully functional ram air car with an open filter that took in air directly from the hood. Generally, the hood is aftermarket and is designed to flow air better than the stock ram air hood. Most people get their hoods from Suncoast Creations from what I hear.

That is not part of the package (extra cost option) but was mandatory on Automatic equipped WS6's.

Isn't there also a difference in the Front Sway bar?
32mm on WS6/SS/1LE and 30mm on TA/Z28/Formula

:werd: to me the concept of callin your trans am a ws7 is that its modded to top a stock ws6 in some way, whether you start with a base ta or a ws6. this could mean, compaired to a stock ws6, better flowing induction/hood, larger/wider wheels, suspension upgrades, the list could go on and on. btw, imo the suncoast hood is looks cheap compaired to a oem ram air. it is not very good replica.

WS6 WS7 whats the difference all that stuff that makes them different from one another your going to change out anyways with the exception of the hood and lower air box
90% of all regular TAs made that are out there are modded WAY better then any stock WS6 and you end up saving money in the long run for more mods

M6 WS6 Cars got 342 gears
ALL M6 f-bods got 3:42 gears. Nothing unique about the rear gear in a M6 WS6.

Yes, the A4 cars had 2.73 gears standard, 3.23s were optional. This was a mandatory option (not free) on A4 WS6s.

"WS7" doesn't have anything to do w/ how you plumbed your aftermarket air intake system to your hood. It is merely a respectful way to badge your car as a clone of a WS6. What you do under the hood or suspension is up to the owner.

I'm sure you know, but do urself a favor and 1-up all the stock "performance" parts that came with the WS6. No point in spending a lot of money only to bring your car up to par...you wanna HOLE IN ONE dat sheez!

Suncoast sells them. Its a kit with their hood. I cant wait till taxtime... I want a OEM ram air hood.. Suncoast is damn fine but I hate the way it rubs on the lid and the poor grill manufacture.

The guy at the dealership I spoke with told me that it's actually a kevlar resin, not fiberglass hood.

my hood is aftermarket and fits just fine look at the pic on my profile.. I added the taller air box had to order it through the dealership.. but the lid added more than the air box in my opinion at least i felt a bit mor on the low end..
