The reason I bought mine was to daily drive it. I could never drive a beater everyday while my TransAm sat in a garage.

Mine is a garage queen, I dd it for a year saved up the money and bought a beater then worked my way up to a nice dd. Colorado winter in the ta is harsh I can breath ez when snow is on the ground and the ta is in its heated garage lol.

I don't drive my car, unless it's SUNNY, WARM, and ONLY during the summer.

Mine's a DD, unless it's going to snow, then I'll take my Jeep.

I have a 64 mile round trip to work, so unfortunately I rack up the miles quickly.

Gas prices suck, but at 23-24mpg in the Bird vs. 16mpg in the Jeep, the Bird is practically an economy car.

No DD here, she comes out once or twice a week and only when the weather is sunny and warm, sits for about six months in the winter. F-bodies don't go well with winter in Iowa. Not to mention I like to preserve something that isn't made anymore!

DD here, rain, sleet, snow, sun, it doesn't matter. It didnt care for the snow much when the 10 bolt and posi was going bad tho. 30 mile round trip, mostly highway driving. 118k miles, and will still spank most everything it runs across.

Daily drive mine during the summer, when winter hits I buy a piece of crap for a few hundred bucks to drive in the snow, then park the TA and upgrade it. With the gas prices I did bust out the mountain bike, only a few miles from work.

You're in the same boat as me. DD the WS666 spring, summer, fall. Drive the Jeep GC V8 in the salt season (and to tow my boat). Jeep 14mpg, 'Bird gets 21mpg.

I don't use either 1 of my Trans Ams as my daily driver. I have a 1994 Saturn for that! That is why my 02 has only 18,000, and my 97 has 53,000. Oh I live in Minnesota also that has even more to do with NOT using them as my daily driver.

JWSmythe
06-15-2008, 09:30 PM
I've had the opportunity to use other cars as my daily driver.

I had a '98 T/A and my '00 WS/6. The '98 sat in the driveway most days, because the '00 was more fun to drive. :)

My wife has a Honda CR/V. When I have to move stuff, I take her car, and realize how much it hurts with the lack of power. It's hard to get used to pulling onto a busy road in the WS/6, where I just find a gap and go. In hers, I find a gap, hit the gas, realize it didn't launch into traffic, and hit the brakes (since I only moved about 6 inches) until a much much longer gaps shows up.

Our blind spot sucks. I lose cars in it a lot, so I'm in the habit of bumping the gas to clear it just before I change lanes. In the Honda, I can bump the gas, but it doesn't make a difference. Sometimes I get trapped in the wrong lane, just because I can't speed or up or slow down enough to get over. The T/A's not only go fast, but stop fast too. :)

I was just given a basket case MG Midget, which may end up being my daily driver with the current gas prices. Of course, the MG is designed for about 35 mpg, and 300 miles between break downs, so I may end up driving the WS/6 more than I can afford. :)

mileage is still pretty low, and i wanna keep it that way,.. a 2000 ws6 with 46,000 miles on it aint to bad

Summer weekends and vacation trips but I have not had it out yet this year due to tranny & clutch problems. Plan to fix it in July.
