I may be buying a V6 Camaro or Firebird soon because my Grand Am is pretty much dead, but thats not the point. The point is that there is going to be an Fbody sitting in the driveway! The thing is, due to financial reasons, I may have to buy a 1993-1997, and those are the 3.4L if I am not mistaking. I will end up wanting to mod this car and make it as fast as I can, but I have not been able to find any websites or anything for the 3.4L V6. Could you guys help me out? thanks

Good question. I don't think many people were wasting time with V6's until the 3800 Series came out. There are several places that sell it for the 3.8 liter motor since it's a little more popular but don't know about the older engines.

Well, you are covering a huge range of V-6's. Be aware that in 1996, they started releasing 3800II V-6's. However, in 1999 They changed the intake setup to a drive by wire setup. Which includes a updated, modular MAF and the Throttle Body is Electronic. 1993-95 are 3.4L 60 degree V-6's. Need any other info let me know. -Tim

So basically if I end up getting a 3.4L V6 I really cant do anything with it to make a little more power?

Buying a 93-97 firebird you don't have to get a 3.4 if you don't want. Midway through 95 they switched from the 3.4 to the 3.8 V6, so you can still get a 3.8 if you look at 95 1/2, 96 or 97 fbody. They also have subtle changes from year to year like Tim said, although it shouldn't change your ability to mod your car too much.
And yes there are some quick 3.4's out there, but they're alot less common and do need even more mods to bring them to roughly the same power as a modified 3.8. Either way you go I expect you'll have fun with it! Good luck.

Well I am happy to find out that they started using the 3.8L in 95-97. I'll just try and find a 96-97 firebird. thanks for the help guys

Theres plenty that can be done with the 3.4l. Its just a matter of getting the right mods together that will compliment eachother well. Ive heard from past readings that the 3.4s have terrible flowing heads. There was a post in here a couple weeks ago that you might like to read. Ill see if I can dig it up and post it.
