I have a 2001 WS6, and want my car to really sound good. Should I replace the muffler or get a catback system? And what are the pro and cons of each, I also want to add more power with whichever I pick.:help:

Catback all the way. Cost a few hundred more but you'll get better gains and a better looking exhaust system. Think about the muffler scenario, you pay less but then you have to have the old one cut out and the new one welded in plus the tailpipes have to be cut and rewelded and blah blah blah. As far as brand I prefer Hooker and Magnaflow, both flow great and sound awesome too.
Go with a true dual exhaust system that goes over the axle with both pipes going through straight through, noise cancelling mufflers and exiting out the rear from beneath the bumper in the stock location. You can do this using the stock manifolds and leaving the cats. where they are. That way, your car is street legal in all the states. You will get a great muscle car sound and pick up some horses ( about 5%. That is about 15 horses) and better gas milage. I did not mention ground clearance. You will get more ground clearance than you have with any Y pipe system. You will get better gas milage, great sound, more ground clearance, more horsepower and it is all in a street legal package. A well designed true dual exhaust system can and will do all of that for you. What more could you ask for? :burnout:

True duals is easier said then done on these cars....but it can be done. I'd go with a good flowing cat-back...anything besides flowmaster. Go here to listen to all the different setups...good luck. http://ls1sounds.com/
