I'm considering buying a used SLP Loudmouth I cat-back system for my 1999 T/A.
The guy I'm buying the system off of is taking it off his 2000 T/A. The system has been on the car for a little over a year with D/D mileage. No cracks or splits.
He doesnt have much knowledge on how much the system is worth, so he asked I throw him an offer. I'm thinking $200 would be a reasonable offer.
Just making sure I'm not over paying. Looking for some feedback.
Thanks

Steer clear if you EVER plan on putting headers on the car.
Sounds like a dump truck with headers.

:dunno: mine sounds nothing like a dump truck... a bit raspy though... and almost unbearably loud... then again i don't have cats any more...
offer him $150.00 for it... the exhaust new sells for like $250.00 i think...

When I bought mine from Summit in 05, the loudmouth exhaust was $313 shipping and handling was $24.00 but the freight also included the Y Pipe

To each their own.
I HATED the sound of my car with the Loudmouth and longtubes. Had hi-flow cats.

I have the SLP LM2 with headers and it is EXTREMELY loud at WOT. I think it sounds good at idle (with a big cam), good when you're cruising, but punch it and you'll get a headache pretty fast.
Oh and it doesn't have cats so thats probably a factor.

I understand the sound isn't what you were looking for, but what about the performance?
I am looking at cat-back exhaust, ceramic long tubes and Y-pipe. I am really looking for the old-school muscle car sound with kick ass performance. Any suggestions?

I have the LM1 with long tubes and no cats and I don't think it's really that bad at all. If I take the car above 3k it starts to get a little loud but other than that it's no louder than any other modified cars around here.

Magnaflow.
Performance wise...the car was okay. Same as any other cat-back for the most part (aside from Flowmaster).
