That's right, you read correctly, Hyundai's finest vs. my Camaro. What a joke... I should have just let him alone and let him think his car was fast. We pulled to a light on an expressway, me purposely getting over so he would be forced to line up. It was some kid... 17-18 with his girlfriend. Right then I should have just let him go, I'm no cock block right? (I mean, after the beating I put on him, there is no way she went home with him.....) I took off from the light normally, I had my window cracked and I heard his 6 cylinders of pure Japanese crap just matted. So I got a little edgy and slammed it. I did not even get half way through 2nd before I realized he was so far back and realized this was pointless. So I get up to my cruising speed of 70-75 and am just cruising in the slow lane. And wouldn't you know it... here he comes, right up my back door. At the last second he swerves into the fast lane and passes me, probably doing about 90-95. I looked at my friend and just started laughing. What a tool. I just wasted precious fuel on that....

Back in my days in NJ, I ran into a guy with a Tiburon GT with a turbo (and a loud BOV) when I was in my Corvette. We got caught at a light and talked about the cars for a bit before the light changed. He told me all about 300+ whp, boost, etc....we ran from a dig when the light turned green and it wasn't even close. At the next light the guy was actually pretty nice and didn't make the typical ricer excuses (missed a gear, something's wrong with the boost controller, didn't properly apply the performance sticker on the rear window so it cost me 75 whp, etc...). While my Corvette was heavily modded, I don't think a stock LS1 with a good driver would've had any trouble with that car.

She has the gt v6 one and it is by no means fast but it moves a lot better then most of the civic's and other little ricer racer cars out there. I cant complain about the car at all. What is your big complaint about the car?

Drive them both and you can tell the difference instantly. Neither one is what I'd call a sports car though. They're both chicks cars. :yup: I thought it was odd how the Tiburon feels like your driving a minivan with a really rough ride.

I bought my wife an 07 Tiburon last year....thing was gutless, was RATED at 137hp.....probably 90 to the wheels....anyway, it was nice looking, rode great, blah blah...bought it brand new with 45 miles on the clock...four months later God decided it wasn't worthy of being in the same driveway as the SS, so He flooded it. Insurance paid it off, and I bought her an F-150...Lo and behold, that SOB is gutless too :lmao:....but dependable.

They provoked it, we did nothing to them in the first place to deserve that attack.

Hopefully they learned their lesson, maybe next time they'll think twice before start shit with us. I couldn't really care less about their cities or civilians, their governement was responsible for what they got.

And as for the Tiburon, they are pieces of crap just like every other Korean car ever made. My friend has an '01 5 speed, so far its needed 2 clutches (they are very weak for some reason), the trans is shot, the engine has nasty valve tick, the valve cover cracked, a plug blew out of the head, the drivers side window regulator and motor self destructed, and both catalytic converters went bad and plugged up. Pretty much everything on that car is broken, and it hasn't even hit 100K miles.

Nope. When the brand new clutch was installed, not even 100 miles later, I was riding with my friend and the clutch started slipping when we took off from a stop sign, with the clutch COMPLETELY ENGAGED. He pulled out and let the clutch out so it was fully engaged and then hit the gas to the floor, and it immediately started slipping badly. Complete garbage. Not to mention the pedal grabs all the way at the top, on both clutches he's had.

I just remembered I smoked a modded Tiburon GT bad with a stock Ion Red-line once. The expression on the guys face was priceless. It was in 04 when the Red-line's just came out so I don't think he knew what hit him! :lol:

I don't bag on Hyundai too much because I've owned 3.

2000 Hyundai Tiburon (fun little car for what it is)-- beats up on civics, and other counterparts. Beat my buddies 95 V6 stang (badly)-- almost beat a V8 Caddy Elderado (mid 90's)-- lost by about a car length to 90mph or so.

2001 Hyundai XG300L (stolen)-- I had tinted windows, nice custrom install stereo system with 2 15s and all the components needed to make a nice, clean sounding stereo system, and chrome aftermarket wheels. All this with factory alarm-- hence why it most likely got stolen.

Now my family sedan is a 2005 Hyundai XG350L

(electric everything pretty much) Fully digital climate control, power/ leather/ heated seats, with memory package that keeps seats and mirrors saved. for 2 settings (me and my wife) Auto dimming rearview Mirror, side mirrors move down when in reverse to assist with backing. Auto Stick, Moon roof, TCS that can be turned on or off, And ofcourse the basics Power windows, locks, steering etc. Side curtain Airbags, rear vents for AC/ heater and plenty of trunk space..

Ups- You get alot for your money-- Great warranty (that really isn't needed)

Downs- Horrible Resale-- and the stigma that is stuck with the Hyundai Name brand.

They are getting rid of the Tiburon and replacing it with a new RWD platform that will have 300hp but I dont think they have given it a name yet. My brother was looking at replacing his Tiburon with one when they came out but then he realized its still a Hyundai.

+1 on that i had to teach one of those 07 scion 2 door cars a lesson, I had just installed my new catback and was tak'in it for a test spin, I turned right at a light and he was behind me, then he flew past me and I was think'in "what ever" and let him go, but when the light turned red ahead and I lined up w/ him he started reving at me...right there I knew i had to teach a ricer boy a lesson even if it was going to cost me gas, ya i knew I was going to beat him, but thats what he was thinking about me as well,that made it all the much better LOL gotta repusent for the f-body community, he got beat so bad it was'nt even funny, i'm will'in to bet next time he see's another T/A he'll think twice, dont mean to jack the thread but I can really relate to this one....
