View Full Version : How low is your cat-back?

How many of you other guys live in condos with underground parking and have trouble scraping as you go over the crest of the ramp? I've got stock manifolds and a borla cat-back and it JUST scrapes every time. I'd like to do headers but I'm scared I won't get it in and out of the parkade. I can't get under there and look to see if there's something wrong with how the system is hung causing it to be lower than it should be so I'm wondering if this problem is normal or not? Anybody?

Its not a normal problem for the catback itself to scrape. I would say you have a broken hanger or hangers or its not hung correctly to begin with.

My cat back is golden, it's my y pipe that hangs down. I scrape that co(k sucker everyday leaving my house.

My TSP duals scrape on any major bump.

I just installed a set of pacesetter headers with a 3" y pipe and I have a measured 3 1/2" of ground clearance. The front valance has only 5" of clearance. I am happy with that.

Is that an off road y with stock manifolds? Or headers?

I just installed a set of pacesetter headers with a 3" y pipe and I have a measured 3 1/2" of ground clearance. The front valance has only 5" of clearance. I am happy with that.


3.5 at almost the center between back wheels and front would never cut it coming out of my parkade, or at least I can't imagine it working.

With my Hookers and ORY, I actually gained ground clearance in that area, tho with a rattle now and then. As far as cat back, you must have a really big bump to go over.

edit; Just got home from a trip to the mall, went ove the crest real slow listening for the scraping, when I heard it I stopped and leaned out, the rockers are MAYBE 2 inches from the cement at the closest point, I guess I don't have an exhaust problem, I've got a parkade problem.
