tranny rebuild

so im getting ready to rebuild my 4l60e i got a 98 trans am bone stock. well im looking to build it up a tad bit. not gona go crazy power but just street racing and sum track. what should i do to it?? put a shift kit in it..what kind?? and or should i stall it first or put the shift kit in before the stall?? what kind of stall should i look at?? need to know trying to send it to get rebuilt by wednesday!!!!:yup:
