Loudmouth sounds good with stock manifolds...can get raspy and extremely loud with headers. I like my magnaflow.....it's quiet until you get on it and flows pretty good. Flowmaster sounds good but flows like ass....GMMG sounds bad ass but is loud. Here's a site with all the sounds with different mufflers on ls1's stock and modded. http://ls1sounds.com

What mods are in store for you down the line? Headers? Cam? I say Hooker if you are getting headers and an ORY. Loudmouth is gonna sound like shit if you get headers, and Flowmaster is just gonna joke that baby.

Personally, I love my GMMG, it sounds quite a bit different than flowmaster and it seems everyone has those. I don't think it's too loud myself, but then, I used to drive a car with full-lengths and flowmasters dumped before the axle.
2001NBMZ28 has the right answer, see what you think of cars in person, 'cause the recorded sound doen't usually do it justice or give a feel for how loud it is inside & out.
Good Luck!

I have a Hooker cat back (http://home.comcast.net/~myws6/exhaust.html) & I went here (http://www.ls1sounds.com/) to see what sounds I liked the best.

I wanted some sound so others knew some "muscle" was coming, but at the same time, I wanted to make sure it didn't draw the attention of every cop on the road.
I suggest anyone looking to get a new exhaust do the same.
BTW, my Hooker cat back (http://home.comcast.net/~myws6/exhaust.html), without cats, is quieter than it was stock, until you get on it that is. :yup:

Hell anything is better that Blowmaster. Stainless Works makes a chambered kit kinda like GMMG but they are both pricey.

I was a big loudmouth fan when they 1st came out. I think it flows good and sounded good back then. Now since im almost 28 years old I love the SLP dual dual. Nice and quiet. If i dont get a SLP dual dual it will be a Hooker catback or possible a loudmouth 2 if its really quiet as some say

I'd say get a cutout in the I-pipe for 60 bucks including welding and it'll give you the same permformance and great sound. Then save your money until you can get LT headers and true duals. The cut-out will just keep you happy in the meantime. And I think cat-back systems are too expensive.
But if you insist I'd go with Magnaflow. Flows great and sounds great.

cutouts are great for sound. do almost nothing for performance. i used to have one.
Now here's results of my exhaust endeavors. This is with 200 n2o. the stock vs cutout was same day.

"Stainless Works" offers 3 different stainless steel exhaust kits for the 1993-2002 F-Bodies. All of our products are manufactured right here in Cleveland Ohio using U.S. labor & materials. Stainless Works part number “CA9302CH” (retails for $838.95) is a “Chambered Exhaust” system consisting of a 3.5” chambered front section and 3” rear sections. The system includes 3.5” slash cut tips as standard equipment, Y-tips or wide oval tips are available as an option for an addition $100.00. Our part number “CA93023.0” (retails for $681.45) is a “Turbo Muffler System” which has a 3” front section with 3” tailpipes. Part number “CA93023.5” (retails for $838.95) is also a “Turbo Muffler System” but has a 3.5” front section and 3” tailpipes. The 3.5” turbo system is better suited for extreme horsepower applications where a single 3” system is not large enough. Both of the turbo systems also include 3.5” slash cut tips as standard equipment, Y-tips or wide oval tips are available as an option for an addition $100.00. Stainless Works also offers a variety of replacement Y-pipes and header kits for the F-body cars as well. E-mail us at info@stainlessworks.net for further details.
Thanks,
Scott

magnaflow or hooker both flow great, sounds great and dont cost much!
slp sounds like crap with headers
Flowmaster flow like crap and are worse with headers. You can hear the resistance after LT install.
Borla and GMMG are great flowing but more costly!
Instead of buying a cat back you could just buy a set of LTs ORY and a cutout. Nothing flows better!!!
a cutout netted me 11 rwhp and 12rwtq over a flowmaster system!!!
