you need to check with B&M or TCI,they can lead you in the right direction when it comes to picking a convertor. don't relay on word of mounth.

If you had a Power Glide I could help you. I have a 4,500 rpm Hughes converter. It is not new but I just had it freshen by Hughes. They sell new for around $700.00 I would like to get $475.00 out of mine + shipping. The Hughes part # is PG45 if any one is interested in it pm me or call (913)-758-9214
If you are looking to buy a new one Hughes is GREAT to work with.

had a couple friends who lived within a stone's throw of b&m in chatsworth, ca. they took good care of them and got them set up right. i know one of them had a 400 that went into the 10's, so i imagine that is near your power level. give 'em a ring.

I was on a serious money diet when my 4000 crapped out and bought a 3750 from Redneck Racing on EBAY for under $300 including freight and it seems to be fine although I only have about 300 miles and about 4 passes at the track on it. You are going to have more power than I do but the converter does have anti balooning plates for nitrious.
