i dunno what his problem was because i have rode in it and it is actually damn quick. we spun all the way thru 2nd gear in it. he also says that he can play with the new 3 valve mustang gt's. he also says that he ran a ws6 in fort collins on saturday and the ws6 only won by 1/2 car

Well, sounds like your tyical ricer. A B18 CRX will run high 14's at best, no way he's even going to come close to beating 3 Valve GT's.

My assistant manager at work had a CRX with a B18 swap. I've driven it a few times, it feels quick because its light and has short gearing, but in the overall gist of things, its still slow and gets whooped on by just about any performance vehicle on the road. No way he hung with a WS6 by half a car, not happening. Took it to the track and ran a 15.7, but he missed 3rd gear every time because his shifter was broken.

In fact, said CRX raced another coworker in his '99 2.0 GTI 5 speed, and he only put about a bus lenght on it from 70-100MPH. We're talking about a 115HP 2.slow 125,000 mile GTI with nothing but an intake and a cam. After 100MPH though, once he shifted into 5th, the buslenght lead quickly dissappeared to the point where the GTI was only a couple cars back. Not impressive, and certainly not anywhere even close to LT1 territory.

IDK about that, there is a civic down here with just a B16 swap, header, intake, and short shifter ran very close with me

Well with all due respect, something is wrong with your car sir.

A stock B16 engine has 160HP at the crank. It has 108ft/lbs of torque. Its a gutless pile, even in a Civic they aren't fast at all. The stock 99 Si's ran that engine, and they ran 16's stock. So knock off a few hundred pounds at the most (99's were light to begin with) and you're in the 15's. Not fast.

also Wesman, he says that back home in arizona he ran a 13.5 in the 1/4 with slicks. my other good friend up here with a 99 cobra believes him about as much as me and you guys do! oh well, he thought it was going to be a close race between us, guess not

I see what your saying, but im not going by how me and him do in a race, but im talking about his 1/4 mile at a drag strip was like a 14.3

My car takes him no problem, my car runs pretty hard, even taken out an LS1 before.

Well a FWD car with skinny street tires, and the weight all moving to the back, it's not hard to spin the tires in 1st and 2nd...

You should explain to me how my good pal Bill's CRX with a b20 runs low 12s with full interior. You obviously don't understand the world of correctly modified Hondas. I understand though, there are a ton of shitty ass Honda's in my town too.

Oh I almost forgot the best part......It's all motor, no power adders.

Low 12's? That's great. I ran 12.2@109 in a Bolt-on '93 LT1. Nothing too special.

Unless the car is fully gutted with a race weight of about 1200lbs, not happening.

And don't tell me I don't know about Hondas. My friend/co-worker is building a b18 turbo hatch, I've been helping along the way. Not my style, but whatever.

It's not fully gutted, it's full interior. CRX's are light to begin with. Last time it was on the dyno it made like 225 to the wheels.

So somehow a naturally aspirated Honda b-series made 225 to the wheels?? The engine only has 126HP stock, meaning it probably puts down around 100HP at the wheels, if that.

So this individual somehow gained 2.25 times as much power naturally aspirated?? :squint:
