03-04 cobra killed

So, i was coming back from Hilton Head, South Carolina over spring break a few weeks ago and i was just chilling in 6th gear waiting for my 10hr drive back to Maryland to be over. All of a sudden, there is this gold mustang in my rear view mirror flying up the road. Well, since i have 2 other ppl in the car and a weeks worth of luggage from all of us, i decided just to relax and save gas. Anyways, he pulls up to my car, and starts reving at me and driving circles around my car (switching over to my lane, then over again, behind me and then back around again).

So, i start getting a little irritated and I tell my friends, why not? So the next exit off 95N (i think Charlottesville or something?) the mustang decides to get off. I decide to follow him and see if i can race him. We both pull up to the light right after the exit and i see a speed limit of 65mph. I roll my window down and give him the thumbs up because his stang sounded wicked with that S/C whining. Being the average stang owner, he didnt even look at me and started wrenching his steering wheel like he was on a motorcycle. Well, that pissed me off, so I put my window back up, took TCS off and got ready to go. As soon as the light went, i heard his S/C whining and he went off. I decided to floor it and before i reached 3rd i went FLYING PAST HIM. His gold vert cobra looked like it was standing still and i had all this luggage in my car. I finally slowed down and did a u-turn and he did a ricer drive by with the digital salute. :rotfl:

All I have done to my car are LT SLP headers and Loudmouth II full exhaust

they never made a gold 03/04 Cobra. Good kill on whatever it was (didnt sound like its supercharged 4v based on your mods/story tho).

could be a custom paint job... or a non 03/04 cobra. still tho, a s/c stang was put to waste. his car probably weighed similar to it with passagers and luggage.

ya, but there is a big difference. I have a friend with a new edge GT with a saleen supercharger (better than my stock s/c) and with similar mods makes 340 rwhp (10psi).

I dont care what the cobras put down or any car.............driver mod is most important, many variables in a race..................whether by an inch or a mile winning is winning, whether by less hp or not if you are a ahead you win

Kind of a side note, but I saw a termy at cecil last friday that ran 11.17 @ 128mph...yea, u do the math haha. Dude was on his brakes at the 1000 ft mark. That thing sounded mean as hell! I wish he had a roll cage so we could see what he'd really run!!!

Actually the Mustang was offered from the factory in very bright Sunburst Gold. It probably was a kitted GT or Cobra look a like, something of that sort.
