hi all, new to the site. but anyways, i just bought a 2000 ws6 auto a week and a half ago. and i think im having an issue with the trans maybe? when im doing atleast 35-40 or faster and i let off the gas for a sec till the rpms get around 1250-1500 and then hit the gas again it doesnt seem like it wants to go. the rpms go up to about 1800-2000 for a split sec and then drop back down to about 1250-1500 and it feels like it downshifts then upshifts really quickly and even if i ease into the pedal it still doesnt really GO! it kinda just slowly climbs up there. but if after i let off the pedal and give it about 1/3-1/2 throttle then it will downshift as normal and go. this just doesnt seem normal at all. and i had a beretta z26 that did the same thing at about 50-55 and i could never figure it out! any help would be great! i dont wanna take it to a dealer cuz they'll rape me so id like to hopefully fix it myself. and i do have a bit of "car knowledge".... thanks for any input!

sounds like a kickdown adjustment problem but i dont think your car has a kickdown cable. is the check eng light on? Mabey throttle position sensor? might want to try a sweep test on the tps with an ohmmeter if you have one

yea it does have a kickdown cable, how do you adjust them? and no the ses light is not on. yea i was thinking either the maf or the tps is about to take a crap on me...

The 2000 does not have a "kick down cable" It does have a throttle cable but trans shifts are all controlled by the PCM what you may need if you have no SES lights is a good tune

A dirty MAF has been known to cause weird tranny problems.

yes its in OD, and it doesnt do it when its cold only when its warm and when i hit about 42-43 mph you can see/hear/feel the rpms drop and the hesitation starts. i dont want to take it to a dealer if i can fix the problem myself, but if i cant figure it out thats my only option i guess... it accels fine when im steady on the gas but as soon as is it gets to that 42-43 mph and still on the gas the same, boom! hesitation takes over!

i was told 4th gear could be a lil slugish, but i highly doubt it cuz it wasnt doing this when i bought the car, and i havent even been hard on it....
