:Ohno: i was at the local sop where the street racers meet up at and someone said something about cutting under the ram air lid to get more air is this a good thing or just crap on a trans am 98 etc... one more thing even thought it has ram air should a cold air set up be added and will it be any gain on a 98ls1 ta a4 thanks for the info guys:shots:

You will get more air by cutting under the lid. I did it on mine. I heard the cold air setup is a waste of money.

its not bull, its something almost everyone around here has, called free ram air, and coupled with an air lid, it can give u better throttle response and a few rwhp

I did it too, I couldnt tell you if it make a difference, but that and the lid plus the gmmg, I felt a differnce in goign in the rpms
plus you actually can hear the engine now!!

FRA is the first thing anybody should do, no hp gains but throttle response will be better. Make sure to check the filter more often due to it will get a lot more dirty.

I cut the sh1t out of the plastic under the airbox when I installed the Whisper lid on my old 99 z28. I felt a nice sotp gain with everything installed. Dyno'ed from 297rwhp stock to 323rwhp with the lid/cutout/pulley

Could someone explain exactly the procedure for the cutout or post a link because it deffinitly seems like somthing that should be done.
