heres a question for you all that have headers

ok after i get my car back im thinking about getting headers and a y. now if the car rarely sees the elements. when it does it gets washed shortly there after would i really need to go ceramic or ss, or will painted work just fine? i really appreciate all the feedback ive gotten thus far from all who contribute. thanks

well, ss will never rust the way ceramic or painted will, so u will never have to replace them. Cermaic, if it never sees rain or snow, will last probably longer than u have the car, but will wear eventually. u still might not have to replace them. SS will look better, so if u have the money, they tend to be higher quality, fit better and have better welds.

Go wither Ceramic coated and get that heat out of the engine bay, keeping the heat inside the header with the coating also helps increase scavenging to move the exhaust out faster

No, it will just protect from rust and make it last longer. The ceramic coating is what keeps the heat inside the header

ss are generally more expensive, and ones like kooks or qtp or hooker have very nice fits and higher quality welds (not saying ceramic ones are bad..)

the welds on my pacesetters are perfect.
the fit and finish is also perfect.
if somebody wants bling bling, they get stainless.
if they are like me, you want fuctionality.
i suggest the orginal poster get the coated headers.

for the price of stainless headers, a person can get coated headers, y pipe and a ls6 manifold and still have money left over.

Just install Dynatech Supermaxx system today. Fit and overall appearance of quality is great. I'll post if my impression turns south after some mile. It does sound and feel much more angry when I stand on it now.

The ceramics will keep underhood temps cooler, as mentioned many times above. That'll save your plug wires, and anything else under there that will have to deal with the heat(power steering lines, brake lines, etc.) Just makes sure to get some that are coated inside and out.)

How about regular driving not to loud ?. I now have a slp loudmouth and thinking about the suppermaxx. (I like the sound of my car now. will it get louder with headers under normal driving)

It did get louder, quite a bit actually when on it hard. It is still pretty tame cruising or at idle and I haven't noticed any drone.
