Well, it was very nice outside today 75* and i started up the car, and took the tops off, and my car didnt come out of park, after 5 or so mins of waiting and smaking the shifter around it finally shifted, i whent to Pontiac and asked them the guy said its eaither the Nuetral safty switch, or the Shift Syllanoid is going bad, or its disconnected or something, i asked him what could cause this he said most likely it might be going out but someone could have spilled pop down there, and its between the connecters they said it would be $90 to check this so before i go and spend $90 which i need to save for a formula, i wanna see if anyone else has had this problem, because i dont want them to check it and its fine, and it just needed to be connected or something so small i could of done at home, but any help would be great so i can try and sell this car.

Sounds like the brake pedal switch that lets you only shift out of park with the brake applied.

When i click the switch on the shift in without my foot on the brake its tough for the peice to slide in, but sometimes when i put my foot on the break and go to shift it feels the exact same. i forget what the peice is called like the break light switch or something like that, i think its behind the pedal of on the metal rod somewhere along those lines.
