Any info on the gm 440-4t trans

I'm thinking about if it is worth the time and money to rebuild my automatic, or if i should convert to a manuel. I plan to try as hard as i can to push around 500+hp. know i have to build up the front end to take that power, but i haven't come across any info as of what the trans can take.

Tranny holds up decent under the average power a v6 is gonna make.

I upgraded the internals a couple times..... but eventually got a full rebuilt one.... $1100 and works completely fine.
