View Full Version : problems since converter and shift kit

hi guy's i joined here today i would like to say hello to all of you ..
and i was hoping someone here is a tranny guy my 98 z28 it's a head and cam car i put in a edge 3600 converter and a trans go shift kit well i had a moron put the shift kit in i put about 15 miles on it and while driving one day the car shut off and then i got it back on and 5 seconds later i got this weird humming noise from the trans section,know the car wont stay running on it's own you have to hold the throttle for a few minutes then it will stay running after it warms up the hum/BUZ TYPE NOISE COMES BACK I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS HAD AN ISSUE LIKE THIS ALSO I REALLY AM NOT TO FAMILIAR WITH THE FORUM YET SO IF ANYONE COULD EMAIL ME WITH HELP IT IS CAMZILLA98@CS.COM THANKS GUY'S

Hey there and welcome to the forum! You will definitely find a lot of help on this site & plenty of people to offer advice. I'd have to do a little checking to answer your question, but I'll try to get back to you....

do you have a transmission cooler..if not..then your trans might be gone. it is always wort hasking..have you got a tune for the stall? and i would check all electronic connections and i would also check all bolts and make sure everything is torqued properly

the 4l60e is a very electronic transmission....take it in to a trans shop and get it done right.

hi guy's like a dope i forgot to mention that i installed the converter and a artcarr cooler and i had my coworker do the shift kit im a mechanic but i dont do transmissions he does but it was his first shift kit so i think he yucked it up since it is aftermarket performance i never ran across this being that i work on new gm's

One thing is for sure....don't drive the car anymore until you get it fixed...

I Wish I Could Drive Her But It Wont Stay Running Once In Gear If It Wasnt For Bad Luck I Wouldnt Have Any Luck At All Lol
