I've seen a lot of differing viewpoints on the various rear ends available to us. First, I'd like to know which one is the lightest between the 12 bolt, 9" and Dana 60? Secondly, I'd like to know which causes less parasitic loss as I've heard different responses on that as well. And if you could provide proof rather than just an opinion that'd be great too. Thanks.

Wow, no one? Guess I'll just have to do more research myself.

I don't know how much each one weighs, sorry. I do think that you need to consider the carrier that you go with also. On page 5 of the Trutrac Owner's Manual it states "For Trutrac models built with pre-load, ther rotation will be restricted(approx. 100 lb. ft. torque required to rotate). Pre-load units are all models for Toyota and Dana 30 axles, and for the Ford 9"-913A328 model only."
I was quite suprised after my 9" install. I didn't expect that much drag. I hope this info helps. Good luck with your research.

Hey that's some good info. I wonder how many ft./lbs the other rears take in order to rotate?
