I was changing my stock lid yesterday to an slp (fits like crap) and just looking around for anything out of place.I noticed the Ram air hood at the point of air entry has like a metal shield behind the screens. It seemed as though it had a lot of crap (bugs road grime etc) so I did clean it off.Does anyone wax this for better air flow?:zoom:

A lot of people cut that area out to make it more open. I hadn't thought about waxing it before, I guess theoretically it should improve since there would be less resistance. Will it be enough to really notice? Probably not; but that's the same reason I've never cut that area out - didn't think I'd notice much difference and didn't want the increased risk of water entering inside if I took the area out (and the fact I would be cutting up my hood).

SLP lids are hit or miss. Some people have no problems at all and others have nothing but problems. You are not alone.
