I have a pretty much stock 2000, trans am has Long Tubes & SLP lid, i have plans of doing all of the free mods very soon ( as soon as weather and time improve) & Port/Polish the throttle body
Next year i plan to do a FAST 90 or Weiand intake & Head/Cam swap.
Would i notice the power & it be worth while to do the LS6 intake now? or should i just save the money and buy suspension goodies with it?
Thanks!

buy the ls6 and resell it when you order the new combo. You should be able to sell it for almost exactly what you bought it for. The gains are worth it too.

Thats true if you get a used one, if you buy a new, its like 500 or so and resells for 300. Ultimately its up to you, but I think I would wait and get the fast setup. At least, thats what I should have done back in the day.

Bought mine used with only like 1000miles on it for 275 shipped. Could easily resell for 325. It would be gone in less than a week at that price.

If you are planning to do 90/90 next year, the LS6 isn't worth it for the time being, put the money into suspension or elsewhere. The Weiand is pretty much a waste of time/money.

save the money and wait...
personally i would go with the FAST92 over any metal/alloy intake due to heatsoak issues and the potiental or losing power as a result...

I'd get the LS6 intake used, if you can find a good price, and add it on now...you WILL notice the increase in performance! Then, next year when you are ready to switch to the FAST intake, sell the LS6 and put that money towards the new intake. If you're thinking about purchasing the LS6 intake brand new, you should just wait until next year & get the FAST. Look around on Ebay & these forums for a used one...you can sell it later on for about the same price you paid...

I concur....pick up a used LS6 intake for now and you'll get the benefit of a nice gain. You should be able to sell it for around $300 if you decide to go with the new Weiand intake in the future.
FYI....heatsoak isn't an issue with the new Weiand intake....it's composite, just like the LS6.

I don't see the point in tying up $300 for a years usage of an LS6 intake. Sure he could recoup his $300 easily enough, but I would save the money for other parts and get them sooner

I agree with that. I've never swapped an intake manifold, but i'm sure it's a good deal of work to do on these cars. how long does it usually take you guys if ur swapping just the intake?

I have done it a few times now, but I can do it in about an hour now. 2 hours until you get your shortcuts figured out :D

speaking from personal experience, i went from my Ls1 intake to an Ls6 intake (Jan '07) when I had my heads installed. i wasnt pleased with what I got out of it. just 8 months later in Aug '07 i installed a lightly self-ported FAST90 setup that i got at a very good price and later sold the Ls6 intake to get some of my money back...
i gained 35rwhp/10rwtq OVER the Ls6 intake i had on the car. what im saying is, i learned the hard way, and should have just saved up for the FAST to begin with and i would have been done with it. im just trying to help save you time, moeny and aggrevation...
do it once, do it right and be done with it...

I would wait to buy the FAST or the Weiand. Save your money and do it once...

I am very interested in the new Weiand intake. I would wait for release and independent results of this Warrior intake. Save up and do it right the first time. I don't think it would be worth it to go with the LS6 and do the install, etc. and want to go with a better intake later on.
