I just wanted let you guys know how handy this thing is. I've only used it for polishing aluminum, but it definately beats holdin a drill to polish your wheels or any other polishable metals items. Very small and light, it makes this annoying job a little better.:D the only bad thing is a mother's powerball will not fit in it. It takes a 1/4" shaft and the powerball's is slightly larger than that. However, 1/4" seems to be pretty standard; and you can get way better polishing "bits" than the powerball way cheaper, so oh well. and best of all its only 25 bucks . . . hell thats about how much a powerball normally is!!! its worth a try for you aluminum wheel guys!

Craftsman lawnmower. I have been buying everything as I catch it on sale for my house, if they will ever get it built :brick:

I got the lawnmower on sale for $50 off, and my tool chest was $100 off. Tool chest came with cover, liners, power strip etc.

There is a lot of other shit piled up in my poor apartment not shown in the pic sadly. My new table and chairs are setting at the warehouse being held until the house is ready and the same for my fridge :soapbox:

that's one of the PIA things about getting a house. The timing always sucks. We got lucky on ours because we were month to month at the apt by then so we just rode it out and then when moving time got here we paid an extra month at the apt to give me plenty of time to move everything. We were moving about an hour away so I would take a load up each night after work. Worked out pretty good, just cost us extra money but it was worth it.

Thats pretty much what is going to happen with us. My lease runs out at the end of May. They were supposed to have the house done in late April or early May. They have dropped the ball though and now have a scheduled completion date of July 7th, which is b/s. I signed the contract December 7th and they claim to have houses completed within 120 days of the contract signing. I have been on their ass the past couple of weeks and my realtor is meeting with the builder owner today. I told her to get me more upgrades as compensation for their dropping the ball on the time frame. I will have to go month to month for June and July which raises my rent $100/month and a few more months of my fricking storage unit. Have to reschedule our vacations and a bunch of other crap now too. No way I am backing out of the agreement though, they have already given me quite a few kisses on the ass, I will just ride it out :brick:

man if the contract for substantial completion was december 7th. . . they would have to be liable for some kind of compensation, thats bull man!!

Contract was signed on December 7th. House should have been done in late April or early May. Since December 7th all they have done is get the construction permit and level the ground. The slab isn't even poured, that should tell you how far behind they are.

No, but it was understood in May, not July :thumbdn:

I already got granite countertops out of them and 3k towards closing costs. Now I will get my wood floors out of them :D

no those bits are for grinding . . . you would have to buy some polishing bits . . i believe there usually called goblets. eastwood has aaaalll kinds of em. you can get a aluminum kit from them with like 10 different goblets and polishes for like 25 bucks

heres a definately awesome polishing kit to get to compliment this kobalt:

I just picked it up at harbor freight tools for 20 bucks, but if you dont have one of those in your area you can order it from eastwood for 25. I haven't confirmed running it in the kobalt yet, but all the buffs are 1/4" shafts so it should be perfect!

also, i wanted to add that make sure you have a decent size compressor if you're gonna run the kobalt extensively (like on wheels). I tried running it on my portable compressor (not sure of the size) and she couldn't keep up with this little feller!

tested this kit with the kobalt and it fits fine!! used the round bob with the white rouge in the kobalt (even powered it with my smaller portable compressor) and worked awesome!! my wheels are pretty nasty too (very hazy and brake dust stained) and it buffed my test spot to an almost-chrome shine with little effort! :D

both of those are on my list. Next time I'm in Columbus ( there's a harbor freight there) I'm picking up the kit and swinging by lowes for the die grinder.

definately!:D . . . i'm gonna try to get at least a couple wheels completely polished tonite and ill let ya guys know how some extensive use works out! this is gonna give me a chance to try out this eagle one brake dusk repellent, see how it works on prolongin a polished shine (prob not worth jack :chuckles:) u guys have any ideas/products to help protect the shine or at least allow for a little bit of an easier wash off? (prob just need to get some new ceramics cuz my pads blow)

I just use black magic metal polish on my chrome wheels. Mine gets washed so often during the summer that brake dust never builds up. :D

hmm ill try that. . . i wash my wheels every week :dunno:. . . my brake dust just doesnt come off easy, in part because the wheels need a good polishing. im thinkin it is crappy pads, because ive not change pads yet. . . just have the ones that where on when i bought the car

ok so heres an update on the kobalt and the kit. i spent about a total of 2 hrs last nite on one wheel! :chuckles: but i was testin and playin with what buffers worked the best. the smaller buffs seem to be what to start with but dont over do it. . . they will gum up, especially if you keep em in one area for too long. and after playin with the bigger goblet buffs, i really like the disc shaped ones. these with just mothers polish seemed to work amazing after goin over the worst spots with the smaller buffs and the rouge. the kobalt did good but i couldnt run it very long without stopping and lettin the compressor catch up. so after last nite i have one shhhhhhiiiiny rim  but it now has a better shine than what it had brand new! :yup:

ran the die grinder on pop's dual motor compressor . . . wooo wee this things a lil beast on it. . . had to to run it about 3/4 "throttle" because i was startin to tear up the buffs. i'm goin back to the parents tonite; and if i get motivated enough, ill finish up polishing these wheels! ill post some pics if i do, so you guys can see what this lil tool can do! :D
