Ok, So here's the deal. I recently purchased a 2000 TA last summer and finally going to put some money into it. It's all stock, and I have about $500 to play with right now. I am not too familiar with cars and learning slowly. I personally think the best way to start is with exhaust as I want the car to sound, mean. I want it to be loud as well and need some help in what to get.
Any ideas on where to start, what do you have, what do you recommend? I want to know what it sounds like before I purchase if possible as well. Any help is appreciated?

loudmouth 1. if you want it any louder than that you need to do lt's with ory or catted depending on how hard it is to get through emission in your area. I love my lm1 on my lt1 camaro with lt's and ory

TempleU_Ws6 has the lougmouth on his car, and though it sounds very good, it's just not what I'd want all the time. I actually don't think it's all THAT much louder than my magnaflow catback. If he wants to have a loud ass exhuast, then he should get the LM, but for quality and loudness, I say magnaflow!!! :box: (this coming from an old flowmaster lover haha)

I have had both on my camaro and the magnaflow was just slightly louder than stock. the loudmouth is alot louder than the magnaflow. it sounds better in my opinion. but then again it's on an lt1 for my car.

Not doggin on you dude, but no way in HELL Magnaflow is slightly louder than stock!!! I still have stock manifolds,y, and cats! At idle the LM is much louder, and is ear piercing at WOT, but my Magnaflow is pretty damn close at WOT... I'm comparing my car to TempleU_Ws6's car (both stock manifolds, y, and cats). Just from my personal experience with the 2 :D

I dunno might be part of the lt1 thing. I had the magnaflow wide open muffler with the regular catback and it was pretty quiet. I had people not believe me that it was aftermarket. the lm1 is pretty loud at idle and blows away the magnaflow at wot

what kind of price am I looking at? Is this something my handy neighbor can do for me in my garage to save me some money or is it very difficult to get the old exhaust off.

I put my Magnaflow on myself but I was able to use the Auto Craft shop here on Fort Gordon. :woot2: The Magnaflow comes with good directions. You are going to have to cut the pipe that runs over the axle to get everything out. I used a Sawzall and it did the job well. I don't want to think about doing it on jack stands/ramps with a hack saw...you may be there a while.

Good luck, oh, the Magnaflow sounds great on my 99 Z. The rest of the exhaust is stock. (For now )

If you want loud,go with x-pipe and long tube headers with no cats or high flows.:ar:TRUST ME!!!:bomb:

What would the cost be. I want loud, and crisp sound but least amount of money spent. I have two kids and times are rough, lol. But I want to put some improvements into the car. I am more concerned with looks and sound, than performance to tell you guys the truth.

Ok, so Magnaflow definetly looks like it's winning? Do you remember what you all paid and did you do it yourself or not? If you did it yourself how hard was it to do? and if someone else did it, what did they charge you?

I have the loud mouth on my 2000 and I like it. The only time it gets annoying is if your on the highway going 65 plus other than that I like and if you are interested I have an extra loudmouth kit off a 2000 camaro ss with around 12k on it. I will sell it cheap if you want to pick it up. You can pm me if interested it takes me about an hour and fifteen minuets to get to the city from my house.
