I have a 02 ws6 with LT headers, ORY, slp loud mouth 2 cat back, has a lid, performabuilt street and strip stage 2 trany w/3000 stall and speed density tuning. i had had plans of putting a cam in the car before i ended up buying another ws6. was wondering if with the 3000 stall is to big for a car with out a cam. or is it fine with the mods i have?
Will it still help me or slow me down in the 1/4 mile?

ive heard they help tremendously on our cars even without a cam. most would prob even say dont go lower than a 3000. maybe even recommend goin closer to a 3500. you didn't talk to performabuilt about which stall to use when you got your tranny? if you haven't im sure theyll be able to tell you exactly what you need for what you want out of your car

3500 stalls are the norm for stock LS1s. Your 3000 is not too big for a stock LS1.

Yank 3600 here. Just get a good tranny cooler to compensate for the added heat.

A 3Qt. aluminum B&M trans pan would also be a plus if your vehicle is not lowered.

mileage impact of stall?
I have a Y3000 2.0 STR coupled to 3.73 gears in my 01 Z28, and I went from 22mpg (stock 3.23) down to 18mpg. The vehicle is properly tuned with no problems HOWEVER it is alot more fun to drive, totally changed the personality of the vehicle.
