Is he racing the guy that's filming? Looks like there's a Mustang in the left lane that's keeping up with the SS :thinkin:

Looks like a good race and the car in the middle was a stang/cobra I do believe. The blower is too load to be the other car.

look at the driver door of the camaro, in the reflection you can see the headlights of the other mustang take off with them and pull forwards

that was wierd, a blown LS1 fbody should have smashed that cobra, unless the cobra was a fully built KB. My buddies 1998 SS, has procharger d1sc, blower cam, meth inj. and bolt-ons and he made 579rwhp and 540rwtq. That would not have even been a race w/ the proper set up and supporting mods on a blown LS1, it woulda been a slaughter.

a fully built cobra?? a KB cobra would hand a 580rwhp ls1 its ass. Most are in the 600+ range with the KBs. The Ls1 cant handle the same amount of power stock because of the lack of forged internals(crank excluded).
If you want to run that much power on the stock bottom end, you are asking for your engine to blow.

^oh-really?? Well I guess my friends procharged 98 SS that is putting down 579 to the wheels without forged bottom end must be a fluke then, huh? And he has made repeated passes down the 1/4 mile without any in trouble.
and it would take a KB cobra to hand a SC'ed LS1 it's ass, that is what I said, read before commenting please. And it would still be a close race. A properly set up SC'ed LS1 will put out amazing power w/ supporting mods done correctly. That is where people are confused when they see a blown LS1 not putting down huge numbers, it's because the owner was a dumbass and didn't set it up correctly or didn't get the supporting mods to go w/ a blower.
don't get upset, I wasn't bashin on the almighty 03/04 cobra.....

i like how i keep reading how ls1s cant hold alot of power on stock bottom ends.
fact is they make more power on less boost than a 4.6.

It doesn’t take a genius to know that without forged internals in a block with that much power isn’t a good thing. Doesn’t matter who made the car.
its common sense. Of course it can make that power. There have been a few turbo cars from MPH making close to 600 hp on SOHC and stock short blocks. I bet they wouldnt last on the road more than one pass at WOT.
