Seems many have the Camaro as an 'extra' toy, who has an SS as a daily driver?

Mine was a daily driver for a year and a half, now it's a weekend toy. Buying a second car as a daily driver has been the best mod I've done yet.

TA as DD here, all seasons all weather in Philly. I carry a shovel in the rear during winter just in case. If it's REAL bad I take the wifey's Explorer and leave her to fend for a ride to work on her own......Fuck it my name is on the truck registration:dunno:

I drive my 98 SS for 3 seasons as a daily driver, it gets stored in the winters tho.

I just put 300 lbs in the trunk. Maybe that will help me out on the snow

ss~zoso~ss
12-15-2005, 04:04 PM
its not the weight, its the weight distribution on the tires. SS's with 275's or z28's with 245's are horrible because the weight is spreadout and the tires act like snowboards being that they glide ontop of the snow whereas thinner tires focus the pressure on a smaller area cutting through the snow you need alot more than 300lbs to get this effect with our wide tires, 245 being the absolute narrowest most of us have 275's +

all the salt and sand, causes rot and there's always the high chance of an accident in these cars in the winter

kc mo here and i drive my 2000 ss as a dd but i got 3 vehicles so the miles dont add up on any of them really. only drive 3 miles to work also so that helps. as for snow thats what chevy made my big k 10 for. and it will go any f'n place i want.

My 2000 SS is my DD most of the time when I'm at or near home in the Southern USA. I'd love to have it over here (Israel), espcially when I'm here for extended periods.

My 2000 SS Convertible is my daily driver. (not the greatest choice for Western WA.) but it sure is fun to drive and I clean and detail it a lot, so it is not being abused or neglected.
