Am I able to put Ram-Air into a 1998 Camaro Z28. If so can you please assist me with the set up and the equipment needed?

suncoast z style hood with the air box, but thatll cost ya at the least 900 dollars unpainted, id just put an ssra and a lid or slp flow pac. the cold air ram air kits will create more horsepower. do you want performance or looks?

I like performance but I love the look of a Ram-air hood. I do not want a ram-air hood if it has no purpose and I am not going to put those stupid scoops that are just for looks. I was just thinking of putting in a Volent Cold Air Intake into it and calling it good.

Demon: Is that a stock Z28 that you moded into ram-air? If so how much work was it?

You don't put Ram-air into it. You install it. It's the hood and It doesn't really do anything like everyone thinks it does. You'd have to be going over 100 probably to get any real gains.

The picture shown above is a free mod. You simply cut out the bottom of the filter housing so air is aloud to flow in from underneath where the radiator is. It simply permits better air flow. Alot of us do it.

yea I did the the listed mods above myself, to start, you basically cut out the underside of your airbox and I even cut away more of the plastic cover that covers the radiator to open it up even more, I put a house vent filter before the main filter to keep larger objects from entering my airbox. and you have ram air from under your car using your front air dam for your radiator as a scoop. All together it was a few hours of work only because I didnt have some proper cutting tools so i used a hand saw and a drill...

Custom ram air
SLP blackwing air intake
SLP smooth bellows
K&N filter
De-screened MAF
Throttle body bypass

Sorry, I just use the word "put in" instead of install.

Now, is there a way to install a ram-air system that pulls the air from the hood scoop and not from underneath the vehicle?

get a cowl hood and have cowl hood induction, but thats usually for looks too unless your carbed.

That's what a Ram-air hood does but it's not that big of a gain like GM made it out to be.
