so cal. parts?

ok the wife and i are thinking of moveing to san deigo and i was wandering what kind of parts can i have on my 01 ta i have a magnaflow cat back and slp lid as of now and was going to get a tune and long tube headers but dont want to wast the $ if i have to take them off. i was wondering if there is a way to get around it if i do it befor the move or am i just out of luck?

You wouldn't be able to pass the visual for the smog inspection with longtubes, even if you have cats. In Cali the cats have to be in the stock position, so legally shorties are the only option. I would just smog it, then put longtubes after and then you have 2 years before you have to take them off.
