Help me Pick some SFC's.

Okay, first thing is first I am going to go with Weld In's.

Right now I am looking at UMI Performnace SFC's but do not know which ones to go with?

Should I get the 3 point weld in's or the regular boxed weld in's. If anyone has these or something similar please share your experience with both setups no matter what brand. I don't care about the price difference, what works best?

Go with the Kenne Browns weld in. Probably the best on the market. All of them will work 2 or 3 point.

If you have an aftermarket exhaust you might want to check to see if the 3 point diamonds will clear you exhaust because i have a 3" TD setup and it will not fit but reguardless of what you get weld in is definatly the way to go!!!

Weld in will not shift or wear like bolt ins. They come back out if you trade in the vehicle, but most folks don't take them back out.

Mine are BMR and they work as well as can be expected - after all it is just a structural add on. It either works or it doesn't.

The BMR is on my second vehicle after 50k on the first one. The first car was stolen and recovered - after the thieves ran into a parked car. The new car has 38k on it, so there has been no problem with this BMR unit after 88k miles.

I'm new here and I was wondering if anyone had ever used the Granatelli weld in subframe connectors? I came across an auction on Ebay that seems like a great deal. I'm strapped for cash due to the holidays but want to treat myself as well. Any suggestions would be great?? Thanks

I went with the SLP bolt in SFC's. Great thing about SLP's is the Weld-in and Bolt-in SFC's are identical, less paint and hardware. When I'm ready, and sure I'm gonna keep this car for awhile, I can weld these SLP's in. I like the bolt-in because when installing you can tweak for fit and get everything lined up. Then tighten all bolts down to ensure it is all lined up. Take it for a drive, it will flex and shift slightly and settle into final position. Then weld them up!

Plus, since the Bolt-in are already painted all if have to do is touch up the areas I stripped and cleaned up for welding. IMO much easier than trying to paint the unfinished weld-in SFC's after installation. Plus you have the added benefit of having bolts and hardware holding them in as well as the welds.

P.S. I understand for most of you out there that have to $$$ for installs, this would be a PITA (pain in the ass), without ready access to a Do-it-yourself shop whenever you need. But, for the 100% DYI hobbyist, IMO it's the way to go.

Like anything else, you have to decide whats best for your budget and situation.

Man they all look the same really - More then less. We introduced these sub frames in 1993 and within a month LG, Hotchkis, Global West, MAC, Alston, Ground Pounder and other copied them to the last weld it is the nature of the business

You lost me on this one. What type of sub frame connector prevents you from dropping the motor like normall

Guess I was wrong. I've always just assumed welded sfc wouldn't let you drop the cradle.
