Old, but have to share with LS1!!

Well, this happened around 2 years ago, but after being bored at the computer I figured I would share so enjoy.

I am sitting at a red light with my buddy (all mods except true duals, ported TB, and tires) and this 3rd gen vette pulls up to me with what seems to be two punk kids.

Them: You wanna run for a $100 right now man

At this point I am a little skeptical and nervous, I mean who comes up and wants to race for $100 without seeing the other car so I figure he has nitrous or a crate motor dropped into DADDY's car.

Me: Nah, I am good but I will run you if you want for free
Them: Pull over lets check out your ride
Me: Follow me then

We pull over and pop hoods, I start to piss myself laughing. Its a fucking CROSSFIRE JUNK.

Them: What do you have for a tranny a 5 speed
Me: Nope 6 speed buddy
Them: WOW, I should murder that top end
Me: Not a chance buddy, lets run

And to shorten things up, we go out on this non-populated road and I proceed to murder the fuck out of the 3 straight times. He then askes, you have NAWS, I say no and proceed to drive away from the idiots. Thats about as short as I can make it without destroying the story.

Thats a little of the story I cut out. I wanted to then and asked to see the $100.

Them: I don't have it
Me: Then why the fuck were you going to race
Them: We won't lose, so I don't need it

They were extremely stupid, me and my buddy figure mom and dad were gone for the day and they took dads car out and figured it was the fastest thing in the world. So even it I would have taken the original offer, they didn't have any money so I would have had to let it go, or beat the shit out of them.

HAHA! I feel you on this one! Their C4 was probably pretty quick when the car out of the dealer's showroom in 1985. My '89 Vette was probably pretty quick back in '89. It was likely a monster at a stoplight as the motor is all torque and it launches on DR's without spinning, however (stock) it wouldn't stand a fighting chance against the cars on the road today! To think, there's a stock Neon that's quicker in the quarter mile than a Corvette! It's funny when you run into those people that think their marginally quick car is the fastest thing on the highway! I'm sure those people driving around 9 second Hondas think the same about us! HAHA!

I modded the heck out of my '89 Corvette just to keep up with everything else roaming the streets and then I finally got wise.....I decided to buy either a SS with the LS1 or an '03 - '04 Cobra. Drove both of them and liked the SS better.....voila!
