head swap?

anyone done a head&cam swap on the ls1...........does the motor have to be dropped to remove the heads, wish the trans am had a more room to work with, like the mustang.....but i dont want a mustang rather spend the money on a head&cam package

No, it doesnt need to be removed. Its actually not a bad install. Just somewhat time consuming.
