Some kid wanted to race my TA with his 99(I think) Eclipse 5 speed. I met him on a back road, pulled up next to him, and said"whenever you want to go, go, Ill catch up." He let the clutch fly. I put the petal to the floor, passed him with the tires still spinning. I was going to race him to the speed limit sign, half way there I was 10 car lengths a head so I let off and coasted to the win. Trans am 1 - Rice burner 0
Only my second race, I toasted a new Charger a few months ago. He was no challenge either.

Eclipses suck! well unmodified ones. have a friend who used to own a 700 HP monster. but those are the rare exception... My nephew had a 98 GS i could out run it in my grand marquis it was such a bad joke.

I had a 1st gen Talon turbo. nothing compared to LS1's but the car had spunk. And the 1st Gens can be made to make some rediculous numbers.

I had a 1G talon! Nice DD, They could be made to Fast track car like John Shephards but I hate the Timing/Head issue with those cars. They are Really Really cheap to fix but when you have to do it often it sucks. Mine jumped timing twice and the last time I fixed it and sold it.
If I was going to build an AWD track car the Talon No doubt would be the one to build. For the Price and power can't beat them. The 2nd Gen had the bad Crank walk so I Wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole.

Crank walk is really just like it sounds, the crank will start moving around and beating the bearings out of the motor. Im not sure if anyone has found a solution or not. The main bearing design of those motors were junk!
