intsalling flowmaster cat back

i have a cat back on the way from flowmaster. is this a direct bolt on. any cutting or welding involved? i wanted to do this at home but dont have the tools if requires much more then some sockets and wrenches. thanks for the help again, forrest

It is bolt on. One of the best sounds, but one of the worst for performance. I am losing horsepower on mine. I have to get rid of it and get something more free flowing.

oh man i hate to hear that. i had orginally thought of the edlebrock system, but its made for the v8's. would this one bolt up directly, or would some fabricatoin be in store.

Should be a direct slip fit. but I hate to say, I cut mine off due to horrible tin can sound and performance was too restrictive for me. For your 3800II, I would not recommend it. But its your choice. You can always return it unopened. I used a custom exhuast setup, but If I were to use a ready made, i would prolly go with MagnaFlow or Dynomax. I am not impressed with Edelbrock's muffler design. I am running a glasspack in my setup. But any straight through- non chambered design will lower restriction and produce more power. Anone with a LS1 or newer should not even think of using one. -Tim
