vin number locations?

Hey where is the vin locations on the 98-02 camaros and t/a's? I know it is on the dash but where else is it at? For example is it on the engine, tranny, rearend,? thanks for the help

no i was trying to find out if it was on the engine and stuff because i do not believe the original engine is in the car i am looking just seeing if they are lying to me, im afraid the engine has been blown up is the reason I was asking
