Rear noise

I have a 2002 Trans Am WS6 with about 80,000 miles. It has a whining noise in the rear?? Its been doing it a while, but i think its getting worse. Any ideas?

Its probably your pinion bearing going out.

When I had a problem with my pinion bearing, it only made noise when I was really on the gas or completely off the gas. Just driving down the road under no load, it was silent. Hope that helps.
