what kind of oil would make my ls1 run better......synthethic blend or full synthetic.....thanks for your guys help

just be sure to use a good synthetic oil at a heavier weight than the factory recommendation....Castol Syntec or Syntec Blend in 20w/50 if you live in a warm climate

i do a filter cut at every oil change and i have yet to see ANY metal debris

Dude don't go 20w-50 unless you have bad rings, which I assume by the year of your car you don't. Never stray to far from the original recommended weight of oil because engines are built with specific size oil passages to maintain the correct oil pressure. Too heavy oil can plug passages and cause leaks.

Dang right. Stay with factory weight and run full synthetic. If you drive it hard a lot you WILL consume a little oil, don't worry it's natural, but be sure to keep an eye on the dipstick, especially if you aren't good at keeping oil changes up to date.

when i take my camaro out of storage next year i'm doing mobile 1 oil with mobile 1 filter, no sense chaging the oil before i store it

I use full synthetics. Does that mean that blends or dino oil is no good? Not exactly... read the "I'm an Oil Junkie" thread.

Our cars respond a lot better to lighter oils. The thicker oil just plugs them up and can loose some HP.

You should always winter store your car with fresh oil. I wouldnt let that sulfuric acid laden stuff sit in my cars engine all winter.

Changed the oil today, had 6qts of penzoil FUll senthetic put in, should be good for storage now

Acids build up in oil from short trips, long trips (they say 10+ miles) you don't have that problem. So, look at yor everyday drives to decide if you'll be fine over the winter. If you don't drive far to work, make short trips to the grocery store and back, etc than you should definitly change it. BUT there is a catch no one ever throws in. . .full synthetic oils are not applicable. If you use full synthetic you don't even have to worry about it. If you don't use synthetic, and you start it up once a week in storage just long enough to warm up, you are building up the acids. . .the best thing to do in winter if you don't use synthetic is to get it out from time to time on the days when the streets are dry and take it for a drive to avoid acid build-up

I also run royale purple and usesd a KNN oil filter and it actually idles smother than the castrol synthetic I had been using

I would always change oil BEFORE putting it in storage!! Not good for the nasty stuff to be sitting in the engine with all that corrosive stuff in it!! I use 10w30 Mobil 1 . went to amsoil for one change but for some reason the SS drank that stuff!! Went back to Mobil 1 and no problems
