108,000 miles on engine

My Z28 has 108,000 on the engine right now, and would like to do some mods to it. I've used Mobil 1 Synthetic oil it's whole life, and so far I've had zero motor problems and no leaks, and it runs just as strong as it did the day I left the dealership. I've been thinking of doing a heads/cam package with LS6 intake, with LT's, ORYP and 3" cat back. Is this a good idea, or should I have the short block rebuilt before doing any engine mods?

People do it all the time, but if you have the money why not go ahead and freshen it up while your at it.
