My car spent the first 5yrs of it's life up north so it was off the road from Oct 1st through May 1st, so I've always had a third car for a DD. When you have three cars to juggle in the driveway it's always easier to take the DD and let the SS sit in the garage...

Wellyou see i own many model planes ranging from 7 to 9 ft. and do it most every day and need a mini van to transport. The camaros in the garage the van behind it. Take the ss on week ends.We also go out many times with two other couples, the van has it advantages.

To all the guy's that have put some miles on their cars or drive them daily, have you had any major problems with the car or minor problems for that matter?

12-05-2005, 04:05 PM
Stats on my daily driver for 98LSGUN:
Prob with rear defroster at 20,000. Dealer replaced rear glass under warranty.
Prob with the water pump at around 50,000. Dealer replaced with around $300 out of pocket.
Prob with warped front rotors. I went through two sets before going with Baer replacements.
Prob with passenger side window motor, about to be fixed with a Siemens motor.
Some other stuff not fixed yet:
Rear main seal (between engine/trans) leaking a tiny bit.
A slight catch in trans on 1-2 upshift (synchros probably).
Other than that, 91,000 care-free miles!!

12-05-2005, 04:09 PM
The only problem I've had with mine is the fuel sending unit. I took it to the dealer and they had to drop the tank, it was already out of warranty so I was out of pocket for 4 big ones!

I've drive my 2002 Z28 everyday and she's only about to turn 54,000 miles. I bought it with 33,000 on Memorial Day in '04. The only problems I've had is the driver side window, my blower motor, and the low note horn went out. It was all under my warranty cause it won't run out till 75,000 miles. My dad had to order his 2002 Z28 in '02 to get the sunset orange with only a few options, this car's warranty is up and it doesn't even have 4,500 miles on it.

Bought it in 2002 with 78,000 on it. So thats... 18,900 miles in almost 4 years. I only put 1,500 miles on it this year. Makes me feel like I didn't even enjoy it this season cause all it did was colect dust in the garage. :(

Here's a picture of it. (http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/t/f/tfg112/ed/dcp_0913.jpg)

at the time i had about 8000 miles on my car and the odometer went bad. i keep a close eye on the miles i drive it and i caught it in time to get it fixed.the odometer was showing error on it and the miles stopped at 7905. so the mileage is off about 20-30 on the odometer.

I forgot to mention one other problem I had with my car. While removing the passenger strut I found a pool of water in the strut tower and everything was rusted, this made it a bitch to do the swap. I've heard of other people having this problem also. The rear shocks took me about an hour or so the front took me a day and a half, what's strange is the car has only ever been in the rain a handful of times.
