Shifting Problem please help!

Right now my camaro will not shift into reverse while the car is on. unless i have been driving it for awhile. i've noticed it's also harder to shift into first and then into second. occasionally it smells a little like clutch but mine is fairly new, and it doesnt feel like it did when the clutch was going out. what could be the problem??

If you smell the clutch, it may be dragging (not fully disengaging when you depress the pedal). You said it's fairly new - who did the install?

If the clutch doe not release fully, there will be a load on the tranny while trying to shift gears.

sounds like maybe clutch isn't disengaging fully...have the hydraulics checked/bled.
