how hard is it to do? what is needed and how long does it take? have to re-clear after?

You don't have to reclear....of course if you do it right!

Not very hard. Just time consuming. Are you wanting to remove scratches or Orange peel? If your just wanting to remove scatches i would try a heavy cut compound first, and maybe a light sanding for really deep scratches. Either way you will need a high speed polisher, Porter cable, Milwaukee, Makita, or whatever brand you prefer. Wet sanding is really only for Orange peel, or deep scratches. If the scratch is to the metal, niether will do any good.

been there done that. yes i have wetsanded many vehicles, and as long as it is done correctly you will be rewarded. if your not sure you can do it, go to a local bodyshop and have them show you how, or ask for a damaged fender and practice at home.

I agree.. a buddy of mine tried to wet sand his front fender and hood, but he didn't know how to use a buffing wheel, so he really screwed it up bad. He had to have it professionally re-painted.

Don't get me wrong... I don't know how to do it either. Just do your homework, and don't go too fast.
